Prerequisites

Before getting started, make sure you have the following:

• An active Scrapfly account
• Scrapfly API key (if not using OAuth2)

Setup

1. Install Extension & CLI

   Install VS Code Extension

   code --install-extension Anthropic.claude-code

   Install CLI (required for MCP config)

   npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code
   After install, click the Spark icon (✨) in VS Code sidebar
2. Add Scrapfly MCP Server

   Select your preferred authentication method:

   claude mcp add \
     --transport sse \
     scrapfly \
     "https://mcp.scrapfly.io/sse"

   How it works: Browser opens for authorization on first use - happens once, then managed automatically. No API keys stored. See project-scoped setup for team collaboration.

   claude mcp add \
     --transport sse \
     scrapfly \
     "https://mcp.scrapfly.io/sse?key="

   Sign up for free to get your API key.
3. Verify

   claude mcp list

   Expected output:

   scrapfly: https://mcp.scrapfly.io/sse(SSE) - ✓ Connected
   ✓ Connected = ready to use!
4. Test

   In VS Code, click the Spark icon (✨) and try:

   Scrape https://news.ycombinator.com and show top 5 posts
